Let me introduce to you what to do if there is a problem with the axial flow pump?
What to do if there is a problem with the axial flow pump?
Relatively simple malfunctions during the operation of an axial flow pump may significantly affect its operating efficiency, leading to a poor user experience. After years of development, axial flow pumps have established a solid foundation. Combining the experience and lessons learned from predecessors, we have developed a set of solutions for axial flow pump problems.
1. No water comes out after the pump starts
Solution: Adjust the direction of the pump, check the reasons for the reduced speed, and eliminate pipeline leaks.
2. Insufficient water output from the pump
Solution: Refurbish according to manufacturer's specifications, improve working conditions; check and adjust the blade angle, replace the impeller or the pump body section outside the impeller, or take patching measures.
3. The pump vibrates and makes noise during operation
Solution: Increase the submergence depth, cover the water surface of the inlet tank with a wooden board, replace the impeller, reinforce the foundation or tighten the foundation bolts, replace the coupling or parking screws, add an inlet tank, rearrange the pump position, and recalibrate the pump shaft.
Motor overload, insufficient pump output, no output after starting the pump, and vibration and noise during operation are relatively simple problems in the operation of axial flow pumps. Timely handling of these problems is not only to protect the axial flow pump but also to avoid delays in operation progress and efficiency.
Working principle and structure of the axial flow pump
An axial flow pump is a vane pump with high flow rate, low head, and high specific speed. The liquid flow in the axial flow system moves along the axis of rotation, but its basic design principle is basically the same as that of a chemical pump.
1. Inlet pipe: The bell-shaped pipe is the suction chamber of small and medium-sized vertical axial flow pumps, made of cast iron. Its function is to guide water evenly to the impeller with minimal loss. The inlet of the bell-shaped pipe is an arc. In large axial flow pumps, the suction chamber is generally made into an impeller.
2. Shaft and bearings: The pump shaft of small and medium-sized axial flow pumps is solid. For large axial flow pumps, the pump shaft is made hollow to accommodate the blade adjustment mechanism. The shaft cavity is equipped with a working oil pipe or operating lever.
3. Guide vanes: The guide vanes are located in the guide vane tube above the impeller and are fixed to the guide vane tube. Their main function is to eliminate the rotational motion of the fluid and reduce head loss. Part of the kinetic energy of the fluid can be converted into pressure energy.
4. Impeller: The blades of the axial flow pump are twisted on the hub. According to the possibility of blade adjustment, they are divided into three types: fixed type, semi-adjustable type, and fully adjustable type. The performance curve of the blade varies with the different angles of the device. During use, the angle of the device blade can be adjusted as needed.
5. Shaft seal: Axial flow pumps can be equipped with packing or mechanical seals according to application requirements, similar to the shaft seals of chemical pumps.
