What problems can occur during the use of mixed flow pumps? Let's find out together.

1. Causes of overheating of the rotating shaft or motor rolling bearings: insufficient grease or cracked rolling bearings. Solution: Add grease or replace the rolling bearings.

  2. Reasons why the mixed flow pump cannot deliver water: the pump body and suction pipe are not filled with the guide channel; the moving water level is less than the pump filter pipe; the suction pipe is cracked, etc. Solution: Clean the pump bottom valve and fill the water channel; lower the equipment direction of the pump so that the filter pipe is below the dynamic water level line, or raise the constant water level line above the filter pipe before pumping; or repair or replace the suction pipe.

  3. Excessive power consumption of the mixed flow pump. Reasons: excessively high pump speed ratio; bumpy pump shaft bearings or misalignment or non-parallelism between the pump shaft bearings and the motor shaft bearings; unsuitable pump head; pump suction of fine sand or blockage; damaged motor rolling bearings, etc. Solution: Check the operating voltage of the power circuit, reduce the pump speed ratio; correct the pump shaft bearings or adjust the relative direction of the pump and motor; use a suitable pump head; clear fine sand or blockages; replace the motor rolling bearings.

  4. Large pump body vibration or noise of the mixed flow pump: the pump equipment is not firm or the pump equipment is too high; the motor rolling bearings are damaged; the pump shaft bearings are bumpy or misaligned or non-parallel with the motor shaft bearings. Solution: Securely install the pump or reduce the height-width ratio of the pump; replace the motor rolling bearings; correct the rough pump shaft bearings or adjust the relative direction of the pump and motor.

5. Reasons for insufficient total flow of the mixed flow pump: air leakage in the suction pipe and pump bottom valve is the main reason endangering insufficient total flow of the pump; inlet pipe blockage; insufficient deep water intake of the bottom valve; too low pump speed ratio; or excessive damage to the sealing ring impeller; excessive moisture absorption rate, etc. Solution: Check the suction pipe and bottom valve of the mixed flow pump, block the steam leakage source; clear the sludge or blockage at the inlet pipe of the mixed flow pump; the water intake depth of the bottom valve must exceed 1.5 times the diameter of the water intake, the water intake depth of the bottom valve should be increased; check the power voltage, increase the pump speed ratio, replace the sealing ring or impeller, etc.

So how to troubleshoot common faults when the mixed flow pump drains poorly?

  (1) Before operation, check whether the water storage chamber of the self-priming pump casing is filled with water (at least the river surface exceeds the center line of the centrifugal impeller). Otherwise, add water.

  (2) Whether the rotation direction meets the requirements. If not, adjust it to be consistent with the rotation direction of the pump.

  (3) Whether the outlet of the self-priming sewage pump centrifugal impeller is blocked. If so, solve the blockage problem.

  (4) Whether there is steam leakage or blockage in the suction pipe. If so, it should be cleared immediately.

  (5) Check whether the mechanical seal and the skeleton seal are damaged. If it is damaged, it should be removed and replaced.

  (6) The return oil hole of the pump body must be unobstructed. Otherwise, clean the return flow hole and remove the blockage.
