1. Key points for water pump installation
The installation location of the water pump should meet the requirements of the allowable vacuum height. The foundation must be level and stable, ensuring that the rotation direction of the power machinery is consistent with the rotation direction of the water pump. When the water pump and the power machine are connected by shafts, the shaft centers must be aligned to prevent vibration and one-sided bearing wear during unit operation; if belt drive is used, the shaft centers should be parallel, and the belt pulleys should be aligned. If there are multiple units in the same machine room, there should be a distance of more than 800mm between units and between units and walls. The water pump suction pipe must be well sealed, with minimal bends and gate valves. Air should be exhausted when priming, and no air should accumulate in the pipe during operation. The suction pipe should be slightly inclined upwards and connected to the water pump inlet, which should have a certain submergence depth. The reserved holes on the water pump foundation should be cast according to the pump dimensions.
2. Common water pump failure analysis and troubleshooting methods
Different types of water pumps exhibit different failure characteristics, but generally share several common features.
(1) Insufficient flow
Causes: Insufficient water pump flow is often caused by air leaks in the suction pipe or foot valve; inlet blockage; insufficient submergence depth of the foot valve; low pump speed; excessive wear of the sealing ring or impeller; excessive suction height, etc.
Solutions: Check the suction pipe and foot valve to seal leaks; clear any sludge or blockages at the inlet; the foot valve submergence depth must be more than 1.5 times the inlet pipe diameter; check the power supply voltage,
increase the pump speed, replace the sealing ring or impeller; lower the pump installation position, or replace it with a higher head pump.

Treatment method: check the suction pipe and bottom valve to block the leaking source; clean up the sludge or blockage at the water inlet; the depth of the bottom valve must be greater than 1.5 times the diameter of the inlet pipe, increase the depth of the bottom valve; check the power supply voltage,
Increase the speed of the water pump, replace the sealing ring or impeller; lower the installation position of the water pump, or replace the high-lift water pump.
